FIRST JOINT MEETING OF BOTH FEC EXPERT TEAMS

Read article

Mid of April members from our Food Contact and Sustainability Development Expert Teams held their first joint working group in Freising, close to Munich. The main objective of the meeting was to get to know each other better and to coordinate activities where there is clear overlap in topics between the two teams. A typical example for this is the impact of a PFAS ban on our sector from a socio-economic as well as from a health point of view. Further subjects were more organizational in nature and linked to information that needs to be retrieved from the supply chain. This is related to environmental aspects such as the carbon footprint or the amount of recycled material used in different stages of production. The composition of the materials also has an important role, e.g. in assessing compliance with REACH.
