Just before Christmas the Italian Institute of Packaging organized a seminar on PFAS. Jessica Cooper (Steptoe & Johnson, USA) and Jean Philippe Montfort (Mayer Brown, Brussels) reported on the legal developments in the USA and Europe, respectively. Alberto Taffurelli (CSI-IMQ) gave an overview on analytical challenges to detect and quantify PFAS, while Gernot Strehl (FEC) argued, why exposure should continue to play an important role in risk management of chemicals. The event was moderated by Dario Dainelli and highly appreciated by the around 80 attendees. Everybody is curious to see the details of the PFAS restriction proposal, which is expected on January 13th.
