The European Commission initiated an Inception Impact Assessment on the revision of the EU rules on FCMs. FEC took this opportunity to express its point of view and called for harmonized rules in all Member States as the main objectives of the legislation are to guarantee a high degree of protection of the consumers and to ensure a proper functioning of the EU internal market.
Due to a missing harmonized regulation for coatings at EU level, FEC has written a number of recommendations in order to frame the test conditions for coated metal kitchenware in order to ensure safe consumer products.
